Wedding Photography at The Brander Lodge

Wedding Photography The Brander Lodge

I’m currently revisiting some of my older weddings and I have decided to start with the Wedding Photography at The Brander Lodge which is an absolutely beautiful lodge situated on the banks of the river Awe, surrounded by the most stunning scenery.

I remember driving up to thie wedding thinking I was never going to make it as I kept stopping to take some photos of the amazing landscapes, what an absolute dream it was.

So this wedding was for Steve and Margaret, a very nice couple who had got in touch wanting the wedding photography package I had at that time, I was delighted to be able to do this for them as this was my first time shooting Wedding Photography at The Brander Lodge.

As a venue, the lodge offers everything and the staff were amazing and so helpful.

Bridal & Groom Prep

I started off with the Bridal Prep for Margaret as she got her hair and makeup done but one thing that I have learned over the years is that not many women like getting their photo taken until they are ready. I use this time also to get some detail shots of the dress, shoes and jewellery.

This is also a good time for me to bond with the Bridal Team and start to suss out who is who in the relationship, I’m looking to see who is the most active, the loudest and the one who is up for a laugh as I may need them at some point.

From here we get some images of the Bridesmaids helping out the bride and then I’ll leave the room whilst the bride gets into her dress before I come back to finish off the Bridal Prep shoot.

On this occassion Steve didn’t want any preperation photo’s but we did have a few images of the Groom Party taken around the lodge, and again this is useful for me to find out the characters of the groom’s group.

The Ceremony

The Ceremony was conducted inside in a well lit room in which I was able to move around to capture some nice images of the Ceremony for them.

The Groups

After the Ceremony we headed outside to get the Group images done, and this is where the staff helped a lot as they rounded up the guests, mostly from the bar lol for their group shots.

The Cake and The Speeches

The Speeches always provide good images with a mix of emotions as laughter and tears are always near as close friends and family get the chance to tell all on each others escapades.

The First Dance and Reception

Some of the best images can be captured during the first dance, however as the photographer you need to be ready to catch the split second look of devotion, or the moment a bride and grooms child or grand-child runs up to them when they are on the dance floor with their arms out…

Lets get the party started…
