Wedding Photography at Barcaldine Castle

Wedding Photography at Barcaldine Castle

The Wedding Photography at Barcaldine Castle near Oban that I photographed was an absolute joy and a venue and location that I am desperate to return to as it really is a fairy tale wedding venue.

On this day I photographed Paul and Nicola’s Wedding which turned out to be quite a challenge if I’m honest but resulted in some truly beautiful images for the happy couple.

The Castle itself, which was built in 1609 by Duncan Campbell of Glenorchy and is situated on the shores of Loch Creran and offer some stunning views to the hills of Glencoe and has some well kept grounds that you can roam.

It is said that the ghost of Sir Duncan Campbell has been spotted roaming the castle and I remember the Bride telling me about an issue with the lights in her room and an uneasy change in atmosphere.

Fairy Tale Wedding Venue

The wedding ceremony is held in the main hall and the Castle can cater for up to 36 guests on the day with only 12 guests being able to stay, they do say they can arrange for an air bed for another 2 guests should it be required.

Your ceremony can be held indoors or outdoors, either way you will have an almost fairy tale Scottish Castle Wedding given how awesome this Castle is, check out the Wedding Packages that they offer.

Stunning Views

From the grounds there are stunning views out towards Loch Creran and the hills of Glencoe which offer just beautiful photographic opportunities and is something that you would be mad not have captured as part of your Wedding album.
