Wedding Photography in Ardrishaig

Recently we had the pleasure of doing Wedding Photography in Ardrishaig for Colin and Ashley and we had a great day with them.

Colin and Ashley had chosen our Full Day Package out of our Packages and we started our day off with the bridal party getting their hair and make-up done at Icon Hairdressing in Lochgilphead.

After that it was up to Ashley’s mum’s house in Ardrishaig to get ready then it was down to Ardrishaig Community Halls for the Ceremony and the Reception.

Wedding Photography in Ardrishaig – Bridal Prep

So as I said we started off with the ladies getting their hair and make-up done at Icon Hairdressing, and a big thanks goes out to the girls in there for being so accommodating and the big kisses from the pup 🙂

Photographing in a salon has its advantages and disadvantages. And from today’s session it was definitely leaning more towards advantages.

There was plenty of space, very well lit and the staff were very conscious that I was photographing so were trying not to get in the way, even though I did say to them just to carry on as if I wasn’t there.

Reflections

There was also plenty of reflections with all the mirrors about which is a photographers dream, or possibly just mine lol

The only downside to photographing in the salon is it can get busy.

This does affect the image as you sometimes need to reposition so you are not in the way or you need to alter the angle you are shooting from to remove people from the image.

That being said it really wasn’t much of an issue for me and I hope I didn’t annoy the staff too much and would love to photograph there again.

So, here you go, a few images from the bridal prep at Icon Hairdressing.

And a few from Ashley’s mum’s house.

Wedding Photography in Ardrishaig – Ceremony

In no time at all it was off to the Wedding Ceremony at Ardrishaig North Hall which has only recently been fixed up and we have to admit it looks great.

I will add a little bit more about the halls at the end of the post.

Today’s officiant was Lorna from Argyll and Bute Registrars and like all of their registrars delivered a very professional service.

A quick hello, handshake and photo of the Groom and his best man John with the piper outside then it was inside to get ready for the bride arriving.

Wedding Photography in Ardrishaig – Groups

After the Ceremony we like to get the Group shots done. The initial plan was to get them done outside looking across the loch, however, the weather had other ideas.

A quick plan ‘B’ and we shot the images in the North hall.

Wedding Photography in Ardrishaig – Bride and Groom First Shoot

Another plan ‘B’ was needed for the first Bride and Groom shoot as again due to the rain we found a spot inside the second hall to do this shoot.

With the balloon arch providing a suitable alternative for a location we decided to shoot there.

Wedding Photography in Ardrishaig – Speeches

As we have stated in many of our posts, the speeches are one of our favourite parts of the Wedding to shoot.

And the speeches here were no different, in fact, the speeches here were really really good and we got a lot of emotion from the speakers and people in the crowd.

Wedding Photography in Ardrishaig – Cutting The Cake

Up next was cutting the cake, and some help was needed from Ashley’s dad and the lady who made the cake, got to be honest I’m not sure what the issue was but it made for good photo’s.

Wedding Photography in Ardrishaig – First Dance

Another favourite part of ours and Colin and Ashley helped create some nice images here with a nice slow dance.

Wedding Photography in Ardrishaig – Bride and Groom Shoot at Ardrishaig Pier

This part is quickly becoming our favourite part of our Full Day Package.

We like to take the Bride and Groom away from the madness of the event to allow them to relax a little and express themselves a bit more.

The weather had been poor all day but then we got a break, so I said to Colin and Ashley, let’s go now and get some images down at the pier.

By the time we had gathered our kit and headed outside it was raining again…

Five minutes later we were back on plan and heading down to Ardrishaig Pier to do the second Bride and Groom shoot and I am so glad we didn’t just give up when the rain was on.

Wedding Photography in Ardrishaig – Details

Some of the small details we like to pay attention to (or Liz does) that many people overlook on the day.
