We are about halfway through our wedding season and there is one thing that is really annoying me, poor Facebook image quality!

I had a bride ask me not that long ago why one of her images was blurry, when I checked the main jpg image it was tack sharp.

This is extremely frustrating for us photographers, so much so that I know of quite a few photographers that don’t use Facebook because of this.

However, I can’t be this bold as for a small business like mine Facebook is a big part for advertising for me.

Not Just Poor Facebook Image Quality

Now, as much as I have blamed FB here I willl also admit part of the image quality issue is my fault.

When I upload my image I upload them at what I class as web sized, approximately 1000 pixels at its largest.

I then have a plugin that analyses my images and reduces the size of them further, this is for SEO purposes and to keep Google happy.

As Google does not like your website to have large files, if you do then they punish you.
